Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated

Blues Incorporated (1965)

The original recordings date from 1963 and although there is a lot of blues on here the list of musicians should tell you that you're going to hear more than just a set of standard blues tunes. As well Korner theres Dick Heckstall-Smith Johnny Parker, Art Theman and Phil Seaman. So there is a quite a big Jazz influence as well. Evidence of this Jazz influence is there from the first track 'Blue Mink', which was inspired by Thelonius Monk's "Blue Monk". This is a marvellous set of mainly blues inspired tunes.
Personnel: Alexis Korner - electric guitar, vocal, Dick Heckstall-Smith - tenor saxophone, Art Themen - tenor saxophone, alto saxophone, Johnny Parker - piano, Mike Scott - string bass, Phil Seamen - drums
